We also measure basic website traffic with PostHog without using analytics cookies. This “cookieless” measurement starts as soon as you visit the site. It helps us understand things like how many people visit and which pages they open. It does not store a PostHog analytics identifier in your browser cookies or local storage. Instead, PostHog uses a privacy-preserving hash on its servers. When you are signed in, some product actions (for example starting a lesson or completing a challenge) may also be measured on our servers without analytics cookies.
On some pages you will see a cookie banner with Accept and Reject.
If you Accept, we turn on analytics cookies. That lets us collect more detailed product analytics, including linking usage to your account when you are signed in.
If you Reject, or if you never choose, we do not use analytics cookies. Basic cookieless traffic measurement still continues. Essential cookies for signed-in features stay on either way.
You can change your choice anytime with the “Manage cookie preferences” control on this page, or by clearing cookies and site data in your browser settings.
Our iOS and Android apps do not use the same website cookie banner. They may collect product analytics consistent with the Privacy Policy and platform rules. Device settings may limit certain tracking.
